Let's Look at the Facts: Jimin & Song Daeun

Let me start this off by saying that I mayyyy be a little biased🤏🏽 throughout this blog post because Jimin is my ult bias. I love that man very deeply and I am writing this only to put the information out there and you can form your own opinions. No matter what the fact remains Jimin has his own private life that we are not a part of and have no right to, and we don't get to dictate any aspect of him.

Also, the fact remains that I love that man regardless of anything and that will never change!

Who is Song Daeun?

Song Daeun is a Korean actress most known for her participation in season two of Heart Signal which aired in 2016 and was a reality dating show. Her most recent role was in The Golden Spoon which aired in 2022. She was born June of 1991 making her 34 years old.

In all honesty as an International BTS fan I really can't say I am familiar with any of her work or was I with her before this. Which I think is important to note because no matter what her reasoning for posting the video, she clearly has gotten a lot of attention and people like me now know who she is.

I also can't end this section without talking about her alleged ties to the Burning Sun Scandal, if you don't know what this is you can look it up to get further information because it is a huge scandal. To sum it up though there was a night club called the Burning Sun nightclub, and it was found that they were involved in a lot of illegal activity. Such as prostitution, drug trafficking and so much more. What made this scandal even worse is the nightclub was frequented by a lot of kpop idols.

Now Song Daeun had been friends with the owner of the Burning Sun nightclub and had worked for one of his previous clubs Monkey Museum. She was also seen at the first anniversary for the club and pictures of her being there led to her getting accused of being involved in the Burning Sun Scandal. Most people thought she worked at the Burning Sun nightclub, but all this was later disproven. She was able to give solid evidence and clear her name of any involvement in the scandal.

The dating rumors start

This dating rumor did not start yesterday it has been a long going rumor for a while now. I believe the first "evidence" given about them dating happened around 2022. An anonymous account posted a thread of proof tying Song Daeun and Jimin together. This proof included them wearing the same accessories and them being at the same events. Clearly this isn't solid evidence, so most people denied it. She even denied it on a live saying she had no involvement with Jimin at that time.

If there is one thing I know about Korean dating scandals, it's that if you are seen wearing the same outfits or accessories expect to be on dispatch the next day😂

Anyway, nothing much had been said after this until 2024 when we got multiple posts from her with videos hinting at her involvement with Park Jimin. The first video was a picture of someone walking and she had them covered by a flower. Fans quickly tied this to a picture V had taken of Jimin. Same background and it looked like the same outfit.

Then a picture of her wearing a Mic Drop t-shirt clearly insinuating her involvement. Then she posted a video clearly zoomed in of a yellow ball. Once again similar to a video taken by one of the BTS members of Jimin. Lastly, she posted a video of her dog running around an apartment that fans realized looked a lot like Jimin's apartment from what was seen in a documentary.

She then sealed the nail in the coffin by posting a picture of two air pod cases with her name and Jimin's name. There was absolutely no denying that.

The backlash

Obviously, the anonymous account couldn't really be taken seriously. That evidence could all just be coincidence but paired with the actress herself posting videos tying her to him. It became something fans couldn't ignore. Yet this rumor still ended up being put on the back burner and forgotten. Why is that?

Well, I'll explain. Let's think about this from a fan perspective this woman who seemingly hasn't been doing much all of a sudden post a bunch of videos tying her to one of the biggest stars in Korea. It is suspicious to say the least, I'm just saying it felt very opportunistic. Especially because rumors of them were already going around so it would give her a lot of attention.

Now let's think about these videos each video was also pretty suspicious. All of them being posted on the same day out of nowhere and only on her insta story so it would easily be deleted. It feels like she knew these things were not meant to be posted. Also, I found it suspicious that you cover up his face in all the videos and then just post his name in the last what was the point. You were clearly insinuating you were dating Jimin it is not like you were actually trying to keep it secret. Is it because these videos were not supposed to be posted or because it wasn't true?

I also think it is important to state that Song Daeun had been known to spark dating scandals with other idols or actors in the industry, so this was not the first time. She has also been sued many times because of her falsifying relationships.

So, as you can see fans either just didn't believe it or thought even if it was true, it was a huge invasion of privacy and it was not ok. Jimin is known as being a private member of BTS he keeps his personal life secret and that is respected. That is why even I find it strange that it would be ok to air this private "relationship" out of the blue. She clearly wanted us to believe that her and Jimin had some type of relationship, but we know that this is a very detrimental accusation to an idols career. This is not something idols take lightly, and it can cause a lot of hate for said idol if they were to be found in a relationship. That's why it being leaked in this manner was very interesting and left fans unsure and angry.

Just as expected it caused a lot of discourse and both Daeun and Jimin got major backlash. Daeun then took to the internet saying how rude fans were to her, she made this statement.

Please ask other people instead of me about things I’m not related to. I’m not insane. I know how scary fandoms are. Stop trying to make me scared by doing all these things that you could be sued for. Now and before, I’ve been gathering materials from Instagram YouTube, etc. There are quite a few who are asking about the photos I’ve uploaded before. I thought that even if I uploaded a photo today, they would claim that I uploaded it [at a different time] in the past. Since they don’t know how I spend my day, I don’t reply to such comments.

This claim neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.

The update that caused an uproar

Now let's fast forward to present day when Song Daeun who once again has been pretty quiet posts another video unprompted on her TikTok account. She posted a video on her TikTok story of her running out of her apartment and up to an elevator. Once the elevator opens Jimin is there, and she surprises him. She also posted on her actual account a video of her dog and Jimin's voice can allegedly be heard in the background.

Now let me bring to attention a couple things I think are very important. We see a pattern with these posts by now, she goes quiet not much is going on for her and then she posts a lot of evidence that she knows will get her a lot of attention. Again, posting her main videos on her story where they can be easily deleted, and mind you this video was up for very little time before it was deleted. Also, in the video it is very weird because Jimin is in it for so little of the video, that doesn't disprove the authenticity, but I do find it strange. Another thing to point out is some fans claim that the outfit he was wearing is an old one and that the video was taken in 2020. So why post it now?

The last thing I would consider interesting and point out is her TikTok account has a banner at the bottom of every post saying, "promotional content." I looked this up and it means that for every like, view & follow she gets money. I bring this up because it just seems convenient that she posted this video on her TikTok account knowing she would get more traffic. Also, she is known to do a lot of lives on her TikTok, so this guarantees more people tuning into her lives now.

My final thoughts

After this video leaked not only has Song Daeun been receiving a lot of backlash but so has HYBE. Now I am not a HYBE defender by any means, but I honestly don't think they handled this poorly. As soon as that video leaked that immediately had it taken down. I am sure if Jimin and Daeun had been or are in a relationship an NDA was signed. Even if they were just friends or even Neighbors as some people speculate. I am sure an NDA was signed but that doesn't mean she can't post videos and then decide to deal with the repercussions later. Maybe she just didn't care, maybe she thought the reward outweighed the damage or maybe she just wasn't thinking. Nonetheless people keep saying HYBE needs to do a better job protecting and I agree, but as far as the video, they did all they could by taking it down.

Now let's say some people are right and she is a stalker then HYBE really needs to step up security. Even if she is an "ex" of Jimin's better precautions need to be put in place so this does not happen again but there is only so much HYBE can do to prevent someone from leaking photos or videos. They can really only take action after the fact.

So, what happens from here? The last time she posted videos it didn't seem that HYBE released any statements against it. Maybe because they figured it would blow over maybe because Jimin didn't want to make a statement. There could be a lot of reasons but if we look at the scandal with Jenny and Tae that happened recently HYBE did make a statement pretty fast. Her last videos could have been chalked up to coincidences or clout chasing, so maybe they didn't even deem it necessary to make a statement for. This video however is different.

This video is a lot clearer so you really can't just brush it off. I mean you can always just have Jimin lay low and not even give it attention and the real fans will drop it. But the only reason I don't like this course of action is because this keeps Jimin in the hot seat. Saying nothing puts Jimin at harm of getting nasty comments and hate which I do not like. This beautiful human gets too much hate for no reason and never deserves it.

I think a statement should be made only because I think this would stop the hate for both parties. Not that Jimin needs to justify anything, but I think a statement of any kind would placate fans before things get out of hand. Sadly, that's the kpop culture we live in, that something like this could be very detrimental to Jimin.

Anyway, I don't really care if it is real or not, I just want Jimin to be safe and happy.

Updates

New Update: HYBE has come out saying that they will be making a statement after internal discussions. Meaning they will do more research and discuss with Jimin before making a final statement. I would wager by the end of the day we will have an official statement.

New Update: Fans also keeping up with this story unfolding claim that Song Daeun went on live with her current Boyfriend. However, this is speculation and does not deny a previous relationship.

New Update: Park Jimin is now in Korea sporting the cutest Hello Kitty suitcase❤️ I am not sure if his sudden return is because of the situation with Daeun but that would probably be a good guess. I wonder if they will have him make a public statement himself. He shouldn't have to do that but maybe he wanted to. They could also just be discussing the situation further. He returned with Taehyung and shortly after other members also arrived in Korea.

New Update: Honestly if we can't trust HYBE to work fast you can sure trust Army's to work fast and do their research. K-armys have discovered that at the time the videos were taken Daeun was in a relationship. She was already dating someone who also lived in the same apartment complex Jimin lived in and had even lived there prior. That would have given her access to the apartment and proven that they were neighbors.

New Update: K-media has started reporting that all of these are false rumors and that they were not dating. This is great because if the media is already reporting all is as false than it is easier for HYBE to make their statement.
